After a long break from international travels, Indians are planning their overseas trip now more than ever!
If you are also planning to go international then here are the 3 things which most people forget apart from the regular book flights as soon as possible and similar tips!
Tip #1 : Call your bank and let them know the dates when you will be outside India.
It takes just a second to pick up your phone and call!
Instead of searching specific tips online, call your bank and let them know that you are planning to travel outside India.
Most banks assign a personal relationship manager who are easy to approach and always ready to answer your queries.
They would enable your card for international transactions if it's not already done to avoid any card blocking possibilities and also help you with all the questions you might have regarding how to handle your transactions, tips and more.
You MUST do this. This would not only help you make better money decisions but might also save you from spending extra cash and time figuring out what to do when you land at a new place.
Tip #2 : ALWAYS exchange the currency at your home location and NEVER on airports.
It is vital that you carry the local currency of the place you are visiting. Many people forget to do this and are left stranded when airport cabs ask them for cash. So they have to exchange their currency at the airport itself which gives the most expensive exchange rate.
Hence, it is extremely important to exchange your currency at your desired money exchange service providers at your Indian home location itself.
TRUST me, this will save you a LOT of money if you take this step.
I would recommend you to carry the purchase slip they provide with you too along with the exchanged currency.
